PDF tools
PDFs are the format people most often need to edit and least often should upload — contracts, payslips, scans of identity documents. Good local options already exist here, so this section points at them rather than pretending otherwise.
We have not built this section yet. Rather than leave the page empty, here is what we would use in the meantime — and whether it actually runs on your device.
iHatePDF ↗
runs locallyAround 46 PDF tools running on WebAssembly in the browser. No watermark, no sign-up.
Stirling PDF ↗
self-hostedOpen source and self-hosted. The right answer when the documents cannot leave your network at all.
These are other people's tools and we do not control them. The labels reflect our reading of how each one works at the time of writing — if you are about to hand over something sensitive, verify it yourself rather than taking our word, or anyone's.
What will replace this
Browser-based PDF tools that do not upload your documents. Curated until we build our own. When those ship they will appear on this page, at this address — so a bookmark or a link you share now keeps working.
